  • Parents can share support and advice with others in the same situation.

  • Most importantly, your children grow up with friends who also have LGBT adoptive or foster parents. The confidence and resilience that this gives is invaluable, and can’t be gained any other way.

Out With The Family is a series of events aimed at LGBT families and straight allies to aid networking of gay parents and children of same-sex parents. They were founded after working closely with the LGBT parenting community, noticing that there was simply no place for LGBT parents and their straight allies to come together with their families. Out With The Family will host an event each season to bring families together on a regular basis.

"Our aim is to create a safe and inclusive space where children of LGBT parents can play and engage with others in similar circumstances and not be the odd one out – as so many often are at school and in social situations. Parents also have the opportunity to discuss issues in a safe and supportive environment."
"The inspiration for Same Love Surrogacy came from personal experience… the experience of three gay dads who created their families via surrogacy and egg donation and a two-time surrogate for gay intended parents and well-known surrogacy blogger. What all this personal experience taught us is that, even though more and more LGBTQ individuals are seeking to become parents via assisted reproductive technology, there are no agencies specifically designed to serve their needs. Sadly, all too often, even those agencies that purport to serve the LGTBTQ community as part of their client population fall short in doing so. The result is a cookie-cutter approach that fails to recognize and respect the cultural environment and societal challenges faced by LGBTQ intended parents. That’s where Same Love Surrogacy comes in. The four agency owners, Jay Cook, Mary Magness, Brad Spencer, and Danny Wong, wanted to create a surrogacy agency tailored to the unique needs of LGBTQ intended parents. We wanted our agency to offer person-to-person guidance to LGBTQ people embarking on the journey to parenthood, informed by our more than 15 years of cumulative experience with surrogacy and donor services as well as our own perspectives as LGBTQ parents and surrogate to LGBTQ parents."
Rainbow Families is an informal social group for LGBTQ parents and their children in Brighton & Hove, Sussex and surrounding areas. Membership is open to all LGBTQ parents and prospective parents and their children.

They are a non-profit organisation and membership is free. Some of their families are led by single parents or carers, some have two mums, or two dads, or both, but "whoever is included in the family everyone is welcome and we look forward to meeting your family."

LGBTQ people who are thinking about having a family or are pregnant can get in touch with Rainbow Families and they will try to answer your questions or refer you to other organisations that may be of help.
